Grand Junction, Colorado – In recognition of the nation’s best new housing designs, the 19th annual Best in American Living Awards (BALA) were presented on Monday, January 20, 2003, at an award ceremony in conjunction with the 59th annual International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas. A Silver award in the BALA competition was presented to the builder Just Companies, Inc., for The Village at Fountain Greens project in the category of Best Affordable Home Detached and Attached.

Sponsored by Professional Builder magazine and the National Association of Home Builders, the BALA program showcases homes that illustrate design quality, achieve success in the marketplace and exemplify the “Best in American Living.” To qualify, homes must have been completed or communities opened between May 1, 2001, and July 15, 2002.

A total of 72 award winners in 22 categories were chosen from more than 288 entries. The 2002 BALA competition’s panel of 12 judges was composed of builders, marketing experts, architects, land planners, developers, design professionals and a building publication editor.
